Trip Around the Star Class

Please note: The incorrect name was given for the specialty tool required for the class; it should have been "QUILT in a DAY's Triangle Square Up Ruler." If you do not have one and are unable to pick one up prior to class, one will be avalable during class and there will also be copies of the grid for everyone. We will first concentrate on making the STAR block.

PRIOR TO CLASS:

Choose 5 fabrics for the star & make a fabric key

Press fabric (I use Best Press or Magic Sizing for this) & cut as follows

#1 - lightest - (cut 2 - 2 1/2" strips & 2 - 1 1/4" strips)

#2 - medium light - (cut 1 - 2 1/2" strip)

#3 - medium - (cut 1 - 2 1/2" strip)

#4 - medium dark - (cut 1 - 2 1/2" strip) #5 - dark - (cut 1 - 2 1/2" strip)

You may also press (again using Best Press or Magic Sizing) & cut your 2" strips for the "trip" per the instructions in the pattern.

Hi,

Weather is confusing here in So. CA. A couple of days ago it was 55, then over 100 and now reasonable again!

My Give Away, if I haven't told you already:

To be given away on June 1st - Three Moda Jelly Rolls - Nature's Chorus, Baskets of Flowers, Spring Magic. To enter simply post your quilt picture on the Show and Tell page: http://www.quiltqua.com/showandtell/upload/
Make sure you note YOUR NAME along with the title of the quilt - each posting is one entry into the Give-away
There will be three winners - names drawn at random from the Show and Tell postings on May 31st and posted on this page June 1st. If you have previously posted a photo, simply drop me an e-mail quiltqua@gmail.com and let me know you wish to be entered.

***I have a new category at Quilt Qua - for Give Aways, so do let me know if you are having one, or if you know of one.
